I was just in to the McDonough st. post office to mail a package to England, the front clerk gave me a yellow label to put on my return address and mailing address. When I filled out the paperwork, I went back up and a different clerk, Patrick, was available. He told me that he couldn’t help me and to wait for my original clerk, Kim to take care of it, he apparently didn’t like the color of the mailing label. Another older man came up to him and asked for help reading the paperwork he was filling out, he had forgotten his glasses and couldn’t see the writing. He told him no and to go home and get his glasses. This Patrick has worked there for a long time and every time I’ve gone in he is unfriendly, abrupt and downright rude. We as customers should not be treated this way. I felt so sorry for the man having to go all the way home to get his glasses when a kinder, compassionate clerk would have been happy to help. He also had no right to turn me away. Year after year I’ve gone in there and every time I get him he is consistently mean, not helpful and unfriendly. I called in to file a complaint, will be writing a letter also and think that something needs to be done. He’s rude to every customer and needs customer service training. From now on when I go I will ask for any other clerk to wait on me, not him, it’s not right to be treated this way. When I had the other clerk, Kim, she was 100 degrees better than him and treated me the way that customers should be treated.
I filled out a form to have my mail stopped 1-7-25. It was to be stopped and forwarded starting 1-10-25. Mail continued to come until 1-13-25, requiring a neighbor to mail it to forwarding address costing $10.45 for priority mail. There was an insurance check in the box which could have sat there or been stolen. I would like to be reimbursed $10.45 to give to my neighbor. I don’t think the on line system of nail stopping and forwarding is working too well. This could have been a big problem if I did not have a neighbor willing to check my box and drive to the post office and mail our items. Please address this issue and compensate for this error. I also tried calling the post office many times and calls were not answered and couldn’t leave a message . Thank you for your attention.
